An ambulance was making a routine trip to see a patient for dialysis at a trip that has been made half a dozen times. Two paramedics in the ambulance where heading north when they saw a black Mercedes-Benz coming in their direction. The driver of the Mercedes failed to stop at a stop sign causing the fatal road traffic accident claim.

The paramedics accelerated hoping to miss the vehicle all together though the Mercedes hit the back of the ambulance causing the emergency vehicle to spin out of control. The vehicle only stopped when it hit a guardrail.

The ambulance did not have the light or sirens on at the time the fatal road traffic car accident occurred.

The patient of 58 years old was on a stretcher in the back of the ambulance. The collision made her go into cardiac arrest. One of the paramedics who was still in a daze gave her CPR but 38 minutes later she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Mercedes who is 61 years old said she did not see the stop sign. She is facing charges of being negligent when driving, failure to stop and slow down and death by dangerous driving.
