Pensioner in prision due to death by dangerous driving
A pensioner has been convicted of killing a young mum and wife by dangerous driving.
The pensioner was returning from a seven hour bridge tournament when the fatal accident claims occurred.He was speeding at 50mph in his vintage Mercedes when she was crossing a road with her husband and son. She later died after the accident. The car driver was found guilty of death by dangerous driving after he confused the brake for the accelerator.
The 23 year old mother suffered from brain damage and loss of sight in one eye before she died.
The driver was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
