The claimant solicitors in this tragic fatal accident case made a claim on behalf of the deceased who tragically died following an attack whilst waiting for a bus. He survived for 8 days from his fatal injuries. His widow also sustained injury at the time of the attack and there was evidence she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and a moderate depressive condition, and used alcohol to a harmful extent. She had also suffered a recurrence of her pre-incident agoraphobia and panic attacks. She received the sum of £24,500 for her injury and also received a lump sum under the Fatal Accident Act for loss of dependency calculated by reference to the deceased’s likely income from his business.
