Firm heavily fined after fatal accident at work
Subject: Firm fined over £170,000 for fatal work accident.
A firm has been heavily fined over £170,000 after being found guilty of health and safety offences which caused or contributed to the death of one of its employees.
A 43 year old man, a forklift driver was emptying a skip when a driver of an adjacent lorry reversed in to him. This crushed the 43 year old against the truck killing him instantly.
Investigations in to the accident found that there had been significant health and safety failings by the company and were fined.
