A recycling company has been fined £20,000 when a worker was killed on a forklift truck as a result of a fatal accident at work.
It is believed the deceased was moving waste material from a recycling process from the production area to a storage shed when the forklift truck became unstable on an uneven surface and overturned, causing him to be crushed to death.
The deceased was transported to hospital, when he was later pronounced dead when he sustained serious crush injuries to his vital organs, causing them to stop functioning.
The well known recycling company has been fined £20,000 due to serious safety failings, such as not having policies in place for workers to compulsory wear a seatbelt when operating a forklift truck or alternative vehicles.
