Young Girl Claims for Loss of Her Mother

Fatal accident claims blog:

A young female, aged 12 at the date of the accident and 15 at the date of trial, lost her Mother when she was killed in an fatal accident. The girl’s Mother and Father were separated at the time of the accident.

The girl then went to live with her Father and his new partner who had gave up full time employment to look after her. A claim was brought for a dependency claim behalf of the young girl under the Fatal Accidents Act. The claim was for financial loss of the services of her Mother.

Awards for loss of dependency on earnings interest and funeral expenses of £22,000 and £180,000.
