Ask Your Solicitor: How Much Do I Pay if I Win?
Before appointing a solicitor, not only should you see if they work under a No Win, No Fee agreement, but you should also confirm how much you will be expected to pay if your claim is successful and you win compensation. Most good fatal accident claim solicitors will work under this policy; however, since a change in the law and legal cutbacks, solicitors often now have to charge their clients a percentage of up to 25% of the compensation recovered.
By instructing us, subject to certain conditions, you can keep 100% of the compensation.
- £10,000 – 25% (other solicitor fees) = £7,500 left to you
- £10,000 – 0% (our fees) = £10,000 left to you

The Solicitors Regulation Authority
Please remember that solicitors are only registered with the Solicitor Regulation Authority (SRA) and are not regulated by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ). We can work for you free of charge, including attending the inquest hearing, if we believe there is a strong case. We can do this if the person at fault was to blame for the death of the deceased in whole or in part and has suitable insurance cover. If death was caused in a road traffic accident by an uninsured or untraced driver, you can still claim under the Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) scheme.
