A Bereavement Award in Scotland is Different
In Scotland there is no maximum limit set for a bereavement compensation claim as the merits for each death are considered on a case by case basis. Some case examples:
- 2004 Loss of Husband aged: 75, £32,500 (If England & Wales, now £12,980)
- 2005 Loss of Husband aged: 34, £48,500 (If England & Wales, now £12,980)
- 2010 Parent Loss of Child: (21), £90,000 (£00.00 – nothing in England & Wales)
- 2011 Parent Loss of Child: (28), £100,000 (£00.00 – nothing in England & Wales)
