Fatal Car Crash on CCTV

Fatal Injury and Car Crash

Two men killed in transit truck by a vehicle which was believed to be followed by a Police Vehicle.

A article in the Leicester Mercury  reports a tragic road accident that tragically kills two men in a  truck.  The CCTV and pictures of the scene have been recorded.

The online paper says:

The clip shows a white transit tipper truck, which was travelling down Upperton Road, cross the junction with Fosse Road South, as the Peugeot 206, being driven at speed along Fosse Road South, crashes into it.

  • Upperton Road crash: Two people killed in city centre collision

  • Witnesses describe aftermath of double fatal crash at junction of Upperton Road and Fosse Road

  • Flowers left at double fatal crash scene at Upperton Road and Fosse Road Sth junction in Leicester

As there is speculation that the car that tragically hit the truck the two men were travelling in was being followed the the police, as a matter of routine and standard inquiries into the fatal car injuries the Independent Police Complaints Commission who are investigating the tragic incident, see fatal injury and car crash complaint.

It appears that a main cause for the IPCC to become involved is due to the fact that it was an ‘unmarked’ police vehicle that was in pursuit.

The IPCC has declined to say why the police were following the Peugeot.
